BACK TO LIFE
Wignalls Yallo is grown on a Lancashire farm that’s been nursed lovingly back to life, and the land improved using sustainable farming methods. Our cold pressed rapeseed oil is sown, grown, harvested and bottled on the farm by John and Clare using what we consider to be the highest quality rapeseed.
BLESS THE BEES AND THIS BRASSICA NAPUS
We refuse to use any sprays containing neonicotinoids because they’re believed to contribute to the decline of the bees. We’re a big supporter of these clever insects, both because of the important part they play in the ecosystem and since they’re very important to the pollination of our plants. With this in mind, we grow six-metre strips of ‘bee nectar mix’ around the farm, which includes alsike clover, birds-foot trefoil, black knapweed, common vetch, musk mallow, ox-eye daisy, red clover, sainfoin and yellow trefoil. This means that even when the oil seed rape plant has finished flowering, the bees have another good pollen source.
FULL OF LIFE
Rich in Omega 3 and just half the saturated fat of olive oil, this nutty-tongued king of frying, roasting, baking and dressing is ram jam full of taste. I has less saturated fat than all other cooking oils and fats, and is also a rich source of vitamin E
Proud to be partners of John Whaite’s Kitchen Cookery School, and to support his mission to teach and inspire wholesome and creative cooking.
